Aura Gallery FAQ
Q: What cloud storage services does Aura Gallery support?
A: Aura Gallery currently supports direct integration with Google Photos. We utilize the Google Picker API to allow you to securely select images from your personal library for display on your WordPress site.
Q: How do I manage the layout of my galleries?
A: You can manage layouts in two ways. You can set site-wide Global Defaults for columns, grid gaps, and corner radii in the plugin settings. If you need a specific gallery to look different, you can bypass these global settings by adjusting individual block attributes directly within the Gutenberg editor.
Q: Can I protect my images from being downloaded?
A: Yes. The plugin includes a Right-Click Protection feature. When enabled, this prevents users from using the browser’s context menu to save images directly from your gallery grids or the lightbox display.
Q: Does the gallery support image metadata?
A: Absolutely. Aura Gallery can automatically extract and display EXIF metadata (such as camera model, focal length, aperture, and ISO) alongside your images in the lightbox. You can toggle this feature on or off in the global settings or per block.
Q: Is the plugin responsive?
A: Yes, Aura Gallery is built with a responsive-first approach. The Grid and Masonry engines automatically adjust the number of columns based on the user’s screen size, and you can define custom column counts specifically for mobile devices to ensure the gallery looks perfect on any phone or tablet.
Q: How does the “Master Override Switch” work?
A: The Master Override Switch is a high-level configuration tool found in the Global Defaults. When turned ON, it forces all gallery blocks across your entire site to strictly follow the global settings, effectively disabling any unique display configurations you may have set on individual pages.
Q: How do I update my gallery if I add new photos to my cloud album?
A: Aura Gallery caches your selection as a set of unique IDs within your site’s database. To add new photos, simply open the block editor for the specific gallery, re-launch the Google Photos picker, and select your new items to update the gallery manifest.
